Melbourne, Australia - Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will resume their rivalry in the Australian Open semifinals after each posted four- set quarterfinal victories on Wednesday. Dave Winfield Jersey . The world No. 1 Nadal was the first to advance, claiming a 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 triumph over 22nd-seeded Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, before Federer reached his 11th straight Aussie Open semi with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (6-Cool, 6-3 victory over fourth-seeded Andy Murray at Rod Laver Arena. The former No. 1 great Federer, seeded sixth at this fortnight, reached the final four of a Grand Slam for the first time since falling to the reigning Wimbledon champion Murray in the Melbourne semis last year. He was a quarterfinal loser at the French Open last spring, then suffered a stunning second-round loss at Wimbledon and a fourth-round exit at the U.S. Open. The 17-time Grand Slam champ is seeking his first Aussie crown since 2010, when he beat Murray in the final. The 26-year-old Murray is a three-time Aussie runner-up, including last year here against Novak Djokovic. After Federer took the first two sets from Murray, including a brisk 31-minute opening stanza, the Brit fought back in the third, saving two match points in the tiebreak. Federer served for the match, leading 5-4 in the third, but Murray notched his first break, on only his first break-point of the match, against the Swiss icon, who had not been broken in 50 consecutive service games. The four-time Aussie Open champion Federer opened up 5-2 and 6-4 leads in the tiebreak, but had the match points thwarted. First a forehand error and then a backhand error as Murray stayed alive. The Scot would then paint a line with a forehand winner to earn a set point and converted to force a fourth set. A resilient Murray kept the match tight in the fourth, but he gave Federer too many open chances. Finally, on his 10th break point of the set, the Swiss stepped in with a big backhand return to set up a winning point and then served things out. Federer broke Murray four times, while the Brit settled for only one break in only two break-point opportunities all night. "Andy played well and put the pressure on me so Im happy to get the win," a relieved Federer said in a courtside interview. "I probably miss more break points than other guys but I keep my composure and keep the poker face and tonight it worked." The 32-year-old Federer is now 10-11 lifetime against Murray, including 2-1 at the Aussie. A rusty Murray returned to action just a few weeks ago after being sidelined for 3 1/2 months following minor back surgery. Meanwhile, the 2009 Aussie Open champ and 2012 runner-up Nadal dropped the first set to Dimitrov on Day 10, but the 13-time major titlist gritted through a pair of tough tiebreaks over the next two sets before running away with the final set at Melbourne Park. The bout ended in 3 hours, 37 minutes. "I was so lucky," Nadal said. "It gives me the opportunity to be in semifinals of a tournament I love so much." It will be the fourth semifinal appearance at the Aussie Open for the reigning U.S. and French Open champ. The rising star Dimitrov, who became the first Bulgarian to reach the last eight of a Grand Slam singles event, dropped to 0-4 in his career against Nadal. He smacked 16 aces in a losing effort. The left-handed Nadal improved to 4-0 lifetime against the 22-year-old Dimitrov. Nadal and Federer will meet for a 33rd time on Friday, with the Spaniard leading the all-time series, 22-10, including 8-2 in Grand Slam action. Nadal is 2-0 versus Federer at the Aussie, including a win in the 2009 finale. The high-flying Nadal has won four straight and eight of their last 10 meetings overall. The "Big Four" of Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and Federer have combined to win 34 of the last 35 Grand Slam events. The first mens semifinal will be staged on Thursday, when seventh-seeded Tomas Berdych takes on eighth seed Stanislas Wawrinka. Both men will appear in their first-ever Aussie semi. Wawrinka is 8-5 lifetime against the former Wimbledon runner-up Berdych, but the Czech captured their lone Aussie Open meeting in 2009. Wawrinka bested Berdych in the fourth round at the U.S. Open back in September. Custom San Diego Padres Jerseys . He insists hes not counting. "If youre thinking hits, youre not paying attention to wins," Altuve said Sunday after leading the Houston Astros past the Texas Rangers 3-2. Not only that, when Julian de Guzman first stepped on the pitch for Deportivo de la Coruna he became the very first Canadian to play in Spains top tier.PHILADELPHIA -- Jimmy Rollins got some extra motivation in the 10th inning from a fan. Rollins homered with two outs in the 10th inning Saturday night, and the Philadelphia Phillies overcame two home runs by Giancarlo Stanton to beat the Miami Marlins 5-4. Rollins drove a 2-2 pitch from Dan Jennings (0-1) into the seats in left. It was the 201st career homer for Rollins, but just the second game ender of his career. The first came June 23, 2010, against Cleveland. Rollins said he was very upset with a comment directed toward him by a fan sitting near the home teams dugout during his final at-bat. "There was some fan in the stands popping off," Rollins said. "He was right behind our dugout, close enough to yell and piss me off, honestly. It was something pretty ignorant, but it worked." After hitting the ball, Rollins turned and yelled in the fans direction. Rollins said he told the fan to shut up, using an abbreviated expletive. "I was locked and had some aggression. It just worked out I was able to tell him," Rollins said. B.J. Rosenberg (1-0) pitched a scoreless 10th for the victory. Rollins finished with three hits and hot-hitting Chase Utley had two doubles and drove in a run for Philadelphia, which has won 12 of 15 against the Marlins. Through nine games, Utley is batting .500 with five doubles and eight RBIs. Tony Gwynn Jr., starting in centre and leading off for the second straight day in place of Ben Revere (sore ribs), had a pair of hits. Stanton finished with three hits and three RBIs for the Marlins. His first homer, measured at 470 feet, cleared the seats in left-centre and landed on Ashburn Alley -- a popular outfield concessions spot. The fifth-inning solo drive off Jonathan Pettibone pulled Miami to 4-2. "I dont want to be a part of it, but you just go along with it," Pettibone said. Stanton tied it at 4 in the seventh when he drilled reliever Justin De Fratus first offering to deep left for a two-run shot. It was the 10th two-homer game for Stanton. Stanton was due to bat second in the 11th if the game continued. "We had Giancarlo coming up and that wasnt a good thing," Rollins said. Said Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg, "The first two swings it looked like he had one thing in mind and that was not to play any more extra innings." Rollins RBI single and Utleyss run-scoring double gave Philadelphia a 2-0 lead after one. Johnny Manziel Jersey. The Marlins got a run back in the second and would have scored at least two more if not for replay. Second base umpire Gary Cederstrom called Marcell Ozuna safe at second, saying that Ozuna beat shortstop Rollins to the bag on a forceout after Utley ranged right and threw to Rollins on Stantons grounder up the middle. But Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg challenged and, after a 2 minute, 27 seconds delay, umpires overturned the call. Replays showed that Rollins touched the bag before Ozuna for the final out. "It really cost us a couple of runs," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. Adeiny Hechavarria had scored, Christian Yelich likely would have scored and the Marlins then wouldve had runners on first and second with two outs. "Normally that would be a huge play in the game," Sandberg said. "Im glad it went in our favour. It was a successful challenge and big in that moment." Miami did get some good fortune in the inning as Ryan Howard dropped Rollins throw to first on Ozunas grounder to shortstop that wouldve been the final out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia scored from third on Howards error. The Phillies went ahead 4-1 in the third on Utleys double and Howards single. Pettibone, activated from Triple-A Lehigh Valley for the game, allowed two runs -- one earned -- on eight hits in five innings in his season debut. Pettibone is filling in until left-hander Cole Hamels (left biceps tendinitis) returns to the rotation. Miami starter Nathan Eovaldi went 6 1-3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking none. NOTES: Hamels pitched six strong innings in a rehab start for Class-A Clearwater on Saturday night, giving up one run on six hits with six strikeouts and no walks. . Revere grounded out pinch-hitting in the 10th. . In order to activate Pettibone, the Phillies sent outright right-hander Brad Lincoln Triple-A Lehigh Valley. . Saturday marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of Citizens Bank Park on April 12, 2004. . Miamis Derek Dietrich was a late scratch from the lineup due to lower back tightness. Jeff Baker started at second for him. . The three-game series concludes at 1:35 Sunday when Philadelphia RHP Kyle Kendrick (0-1, 3.75) faces Marlins RHP Henderson Alvarez (0-2, 4.15).
